Pacific Sky Aviation Inc.
1533 Kittyhawk Rd.
North Saanich BC V8L 5V6
Arrival by aircraft:
After landing and upon contact with ground control, request taxi to "Pacific Sky", which is on Apron II north of taxiway C on the west side of the field. If you are unfamiliar, please say so (advising that you have arrived for PrepAIR), and ground will provide you with progressive instructions. Upon arrival at Pacific Sky, there will be volunteers from Pacific Sky to guide you to parking areas, as indicated in the image above. Once you have secured your aircraft, volunteers will direct you airside past the FedEx hangar to Hangar 51, where we will all convene in the morning for the opening remarks. All aircraft parking is free of charge. There will also be two commissionaires on site for the duration of PrepAIR to ensure the aircraft and parking areas are secured.
Arrival by vehicle:
Upon turning onto Kittyhawk Rd, please park in any of the designated free parking areas - these include areas directly outside of Hangar 51, in front of the Pacific Sky office, as well as on KittyHawk Rd. on the opposite side of the road from Pacific Sky. Please watch for PrepAIR signage and volunteers to assist.
In the interest of keeping our content relevant, fresh and offering in particular past participants a new look, PrepAIR YYJ will be following a different format this year. The day will be centred around five breakout sessions, presented in five different classroom/hangar locations at Pacific Sky Aviation. This will divide the approximately 150 participants into five groups of 30, with five distinct presenters and topics - one per each group at a given time. Each group will move around through the course of the day and will listen to each presenter, in each location. By day's end, everyone will have heard every presenter and topic. Our intent with this format is that smaller groups will afford a more dynamic and interactive audience for each session, and each session will have a question and answer period with the presenter immediately upon the session's conclusion. This will avoid the group Q and A for all topics at the end of the day when not everyone's questions have a chance to be heard and we are constrained with time. Plus, participants will be forced to move around to hopefully ward off the inevitable food coma post lunch!
Upon arrival at the beginning of the day in the main hangar, each participant will be assigned to a group which they will stay with the entire day as they move from one session to the next. We know this might sound confusing, so don't worry - the process will be fully explained and clarified again when you arrive on the 28th.
The following topics and presenters will be covered during the breakout sessions:
An update from Transport Canada/Risk Management - Dave Gagliardi, Transport Canada Regional Inspector and John Murphy, Regulatory Compliance Officer, Pacifc Sky Aviation Inc.
